Approved project for full-time Malaysian employees

A technical training grant that is directly related to an approved project for full-time Malaysian employees plays a crucial role in enhancing workforce capabilities in line with national economic priorities. These grants are typically offered by government agencies or institutions such as the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) or Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp), with the objective of equipping local employees with specialized skills needed to support high-impact projects in targeted industries such as manufacturing, engineering, digital technology, or green energy.

The grant is only for technical upskilling or reskilling programs that are in line with the needs of an approved project. An approved project is one that has been officially approved by the appropriate Malaysian authorities because it has the potential to help the economy grow, create jobs, or transfer technology. For example, if a company is building a new advanced manufacturing facility in Malaysia, the grant can be used to teach Malaysian workers how to use CNC machines, follow international quality standards, or use Industry 4.0 methods.

To qualify, the training must be clearly linked to the technical needs of the approved project, and the trainees must be full-time Malaysian citizens employed by the applicant company.

Course materials, travel costs, accommodation, and trainer fees might all be covered. If local training resources are not available, the training may be conducted overseas or in Malaysia. By giving these grants to local talent, the program raises Malaysia's long-term competitiveness by creating a workforce that is knowledgeable and adaptable, in addition to assisting projects in succeeding immediately.
