
Transform Your Factory with SIRIM Smart Tech-Up Grant
Introduction
The future of Malaysia’s manufacturing industry is becoming smarter, faster, and more connected. Through the SIRIM Smart Tech-Up Grant, local manufacturers can receive up to RM500,000 in matching grants to upgrade their operations and adopt advanced Industry 4.0 technologies.
The grant is part of Mission 2 under the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030, which aims to transform Malaysia into a nation of advanced, technology-driven industries (2). Its mission: to convert 3,000 Malaysian factories into Smart Factories by 2030, equipped with automation, data intelligence, and digital connectivity

Government Asistance
This is a technology adoption program where the government provides up to 50% funding support for the total project cost, capped at RM500,000.00, including project implementation and training costs. Applicants must be willing to fund the remaining 50% of the project cost for the application to be considered.

Objectives
The Smart Tech-Up Grant seeks to:

Encourage Industry 4.0 adoption among Malaysian manufacturers.

In essence, it helps traditional manufacturers take a strategic leap into digitized, data-driven production.

Eligibility Criteria
The grant targets Malaysian manufacturers that meet these criteria:

Incorporated under the Companies Act 2016
-
At least 51 % Malaysian-owned
-
Categorized as MSME or mid-tier company
-
Operating for a minimum of three years
-
Possessing a valid business license
-
Involved in manufacturing or manufacturing-related services (MRS)

A clear project proposal showing how the tech improves efficiency.

Focus
Smart Techup is focuses on advance smart technology, applicants must demonstrate key Industry 4.0 capabilities, such as: IoT, AI, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Robotics, Cybersecurity, Augmented Reality, Advance Material, System Integration etc

Successful participants receive Smart Factory Recognition at one of three levels — Silver, Gold, or Platinum

Cost
On-Site Smart Factory Assessment (OSFA): RM 8,000 (rebateable upon approval)

Companies will need to co-fund 50% of the total project cost, either via internal financing or through loans from panel banks
